      A. Give a brief 2 sentence summary of the beginning of slavery in America.

      B. Explain HOW black servants turned into black slaves.

      C. Explain WHY the rich landowners/politicians wanted blacks to be slaves for life.
D. Create a transition sentence from this information to slavery
in Solomon Northup's and Frederick Douglass's time (1840's).
